Turmeric comes from the root of Curcuma Longa, a plant in the ginger family native to India. The dried root is ground into a powder and is most commonly used as a spice in South Asian cooking. Known as the spice of life, Turmeric has been revered for thousands of years for its medicinal properties and is extensively used in Ayurveda for its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antioxidant properties. Spiritually, it is believed to balance the energies of the body and to promote overall well-being.
Turmeric is the essential ingredient in all our recipes, and so we named our restaurant Turmeric, where great street food is our mission.
